ABOUT THIS DATABASE:
This is a surname index to the burial records of soldiers, sailors and marines in Noble County, as required by an Indiana law passed March 6, 1889. Most of the soldiers listed in these records served in the Civil War, but a couple served in the Mexican-American War (1846-1848) and the Spanish-American War (1898).
This is only a surname index; the actual burial records include 12 columns of information: Name; Date of Enlistment; Rank; Command; Soldier, Sailor or Marine; Date of Discharge; Place of Burial; Date of Death; Occupation While Living; Age; Total Expense; Name of Trustee; Remarks.
