Projects

The Indiana Genealogical Society has several projects and welcomes your participation in them:

Indiana Genealogy Digitization Project

A project to aid Indiana non-profit organizations in their efforts to digitize genealogical and historical records, by supplying them with a portable scanning kit and training in how to use it.

Indiana Marriage Indexing Project

A joint project of the Indiana Genealogical Society and the Genealogical Society of Utah. The goal is to create an Indiana marriage index that begins with each county's earliest surviving records and goes up to 1957. When finished, the index will be put online as a free searchable database.

"Once A Hoosier...Always A Hoosier"

A project to record information on ancestors who lived in Indiana at any point during their life or were buried in Indiana.

Records Preservation Project

A project to organize and digitize probate packets for Hendricks County, Indiana that date from 1824 to the early 1900's.
