Source: A 1945 booklet for the Newton Stewart Homecoming Association. NOTE: Newton Stewart was a community that was platted in 1839 by William and Henry Stewart and had a post office from 1850 until 1973. Today most of Newton Stewart is under Patoka Lake Reservoir, but the main entrance to the State Park is called Newton Stewart.
